Switching to Mogli from another SMS solution? It's easy to keep the text messages flowing while ensuring context remains in place with Data Loader in Salesforce®. This knowledge base article will show you how to seamlessly migrate historical SMS data into Mogli for continuous reporting that will keep your conversations on track.
Inserting Historical SMS Records
- Ensure you’re running Mogli on version 4.16.3 or laterNeed to upgrade? Here's how >>
- Ensure that Gateways are configured in Mogli for proper mapping
- Ensure you have the Create Audit Fields permission set
- Collect your historical SMS data in a spreadsheet and map it to our SMS fields:
- Direction = Incoming or Outgoing
- Status = Sent Successfully or Received Successfully
- Message = message text
- Created Date
- Created By ID
- Last Modified By ID (can only be modified on insert)
- Last Modified Date (can only be modified on insert)
- Phone Number = must be in this format: +12223334444
- Opportunity ID = ID of Opportunity (if applicable)
- Lead ID = ID of Lead (if applicable)
- Contact ID = ID of Contact (if applicable)
- Gateway ID = ID of the Gateway that was used to send or receive the message
- Export your file to CSV
- Use Data Loader to Insert records and map accordingly
Updating Historical SMS Records
- Ensure you’re running Mogli on version 4.16.3 or later
- Ensure you have the Create Audit Fields permission set
- Run a report that includes the Case Safe IDs of the SMS records to update
- Collect your historical SMS data in a spreadsheet and map it to our SMS fields as described above with the addition of:
- ID = Case Safe ID
- Export your file to CSV
- Use Data Loader to Update records and map accordingly
